His freelance work, since 1998, was initially in the residential sector, with a consistent, rigorous empirical approach. He discreetly put the emphasis on projects with a low visual impact, a hidden experience for daily living. Zecchini has carried out personal research into lighting; designed indoor lamps with Flos, Danese and Fontana Arte.
