Hi, welcome to MetropolitanDecor!
MetropolitanDecor is a marketplace for carefully curated products from designer icons around the globe. We offer hundreds of thousands of furniture, lighting and home decor for residential and commercial applications. We are very passionate about the products that we carry, and all of them go through a tedious but fulfilling selection process. Our goal is to help our clients streamline their browsing time, offering them a friendly and personal shopping experience with us.
The Founders
We are a group of women entrepreneurs, with a shared passion for design, functionality and comfort. We believe that each product has its own story to tell, and that story needs to be shared. We regularly participate in trade shows in the U.S. and Europe, meeting with manufacturers and designers, and seeing each product in person before we decide to include them in our catalog.
Wherever we go, our eyes are always on the lookout for new ideas and great designs. Curating has become a skill. One time when we were in Paris, we immediately noticed a modern wall-mounted speaker in our hotel room. The switches are nestled in a classic French dresser, turned on the bluetooth and Spotify, and voilà! the crisp beautiful sound of La Vie En Rose played. We fell in love with every piece of decor laid out at this boutique hotel. Guess what happened next? That's right, we went to the computer, wrote the manufacturers and expressed our interest in carrying their products on our store. We can proudly say that our product collection is a result of hard work, travels, and significant time invested in the process.
Our Team
Our team is the driving force of our company’s growth since the founding of MetropolitanDecor.com in 2009. The first two quarters of 2009 were still in recession, one Saturday morning in May we were driving along the streets of Southern California and noticed that a number of the brick and mortar stores were closing out. We then realized that the Internet has changed the way we do business. We challenged ourselves to turn the current recession to an opportunity. We decided that we needed to have an online presence and offer manufacturers and designers a well-designed real estate to showcase their products. That same day, we went to Starbucks and brewed MetropolitanDecor's framework with the team.
Since the company’s official incorporation in June of 2009, we have employed moms and dads to work from home. Some of them started with very little computer skills—they couldn’t even catch the cursor. With determination and constant training, we must say that they are now experts in what they do. Ask them about our products and they know each of them by heart. We are proud of what they have become and without our team, we will not be where we are now.
We are celebrating our 10th Anniversary on June 12, 2019. Thank you to our team, and to you, our customers!

We actively attend every year's marketplace event here in the US, and in Europe, specifically the High Point Market in Las Vegas, and the Maison&Objet in Paris, France. We continue to explore what's coming and trending in the world of home decor, as needs of our customers change over time, and are moving towards simplicity, function and design. We grab the opportunity to meet and learn some of the top designers in the industry, including Karim Rashid, Luca Nichetto, Steve Jones and more.
