Who this is not for

• Spaces that need the light on for many hours a day, since batteries need changing.

Why we carry it

We have been curating design-led lighting since 2009, and House of Troy earns its place: a Vermont company that has made lamps and picture lights since 1947, with specs it publishes in full. We list only the finishes House of Troy has in its warehouse, and we refresh stock every week, so what you order is what ships.

Care

Turn it off and let it cool, then dust with a soft dry cloth. Skip polishes and abrasive cleaners, which can wear the finish (our advice).

Safety

Meets California Title 20.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Slim-Line 12" Battery LED Picture Light need a bulb?

It uses an integrated LED at 3000K rated 44 lumens, so there is no bulb to buy or replace.

What size painting is the 12.5" Slim-Line right for?

It measures 12.5" wide. A common rule of thumb is a light about one-third to one-half the width of the frame, so it suits frames roughly 25–38 inches wide (our guide). For wider art, choose a longer size in this collection.

What batteries does it use and how long do they last?

It runs on 4 c cell batteries, not included, and House of Troy rates a set of batteries at about 36-48 hours of light. Rechargeable batteries keep running costs down (our advice).

Where is the switch, and does it dim?

The switch is on back plate. House of Troy does not list a built-in dimmer.

Where is it made?

House of Troy lists it as made in the USA. The company has built lighting since 1947 and manufactures in Hyde Park, Vermont.

Which finishes are available?

It comes in Antique Brass, Satin Brass and Oil Rubbed Bronze. Each finish shows live availability; we only take orders for finishes House of Troy has ready to ship, so your order will not be cancelled for stock.
